Kristin Miserocchi, Ph.D.
Program Chair

We For those of you I haven’t connected with yet, my name is Kristin Miserocchi and I’m the programming chair for Division 49. We have a lot of exciting programming planned for this year’s APA Convention in Denver, CO, so I wanted to use this opportunity to promote our programs and highlight a few.
This year’s programming theme focused on how groups can heal divides and connect people across their differences. Division 49 was lucky to receive a stellar session proposal that APA has elevated to the feature stage and is being offered for continuing education. Dr. Raquel Martin will be presenting a critical conversation entitled “The Evolution of Group Psychotherapy to Liberation Ecosystems.” The description states: “Explore how group psychotherapy can foster liberation ecosystems for historically excluded communities. This session introduces the ‘Burn the Cape’ initiative, followed by discussions on redesigning therapy to empower individuals, dismantle oppressive structures, and promote collective healing and community building in diverse settings.” Follow the link for more information: https://www.xcdsystem.com/apa/program/FbFMGhZ/index.cfm?pgid=1923&sid=45111
We have a number of additional sessions that are available for continuing education credits as well: https://www.xcdsystem.com/apa/program/FbFMGhZ/index.cfm?pgid=1923
